1) You need a domain and hosting for your blog.

I would recommend hosting your blog with Host Gator for the fact that they have excellent live support, and if you are not the most technically adept person, like myself, then it is incredibly helpful if you run into any problems while setting, or backing, up your blog.

2) Now that you have the hosting and domain set up (if you run into any problems, just use the live support feature at Host Gator) we can install Wordpress.
Wordpress is a Content Management System (CMS) that will allow you to post entries to your blog easily.
Follow the setting up wordpress tutorial (link at the bottom) in order to install Wordpress.
