How to Create a Wrist Corsage
Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Select your flowers. A wrist corsage can be made from silk or real flowers, depending on your preference.
Many floral options are available: roses, carnations, even sunflowers. Pick flowers that you enjoy and represent your personality. If making a wrist corsage for a wedding, pick flowers by color to match the wedding decorations.
2
Add leaves or fillers. Adding leaves or fillers, such as baby's breath or other small flowers, can add more texture and dimension to the corsage. Fillers often are used to make the arrangement look fuller without spending a lot of money. When adding fillers or leaves it is important not to weigh down the corsage and take away from the flowers.
3
Arrange. Play around with the arrangement before deciding on the final placement. This is the time to add or take away and flowers, leaves or fillers you do not find appealing.
4
Prepare the flowers and leaves. Cut the stems to leave 3 inches in length.
5
Secure the flowers. Hold the flowers by the stem and secure by wrapping with floral tape. Be sure the arrangement is tight and in place before wrapping with tape.
Some florists recommend wrapping with a bit of decorative wire before using the floral tape for extra support.
6
Cut elastic to length. You can use decorative elastic or wire. Some fashionable brides have used bracelets as the bases for their wrist corsages. Either way, make sure the band fits around the wrist, so the flowers are secure and comfortable.
7
Attach the flowers to the elastic with decorative wire. Be sure the arrangement is the opposite direction of the wrist, so the flowers face out.
