- 1). Cover the sculpture with a sheet or plastic wrapping, such as a trash bag, to protect the surface of the sculpture.
- 2). Use a hand truck to move the sculpture from where you made the carving (or freezer where you are storing it) to the vehicle, such as an enclosed truck or van (preferably refrigerated). Rock the sculpture back slightly so you can slide the hand truck underneath.
- 3). Tie the sculpture down to the hand truck using the straps found on the sides, unless the sculpture is too fragile to be tied down. Make sure the straps are snug, but not so much that they cut into the sculpture.
- 4). Move the sculpture slowly to the vehicle. Use a ramp, if possible, to get the sculpture up into the vehicle. Employ additional people to help you lift the sculpture into the vehicle if a ramp is not available.
- 5). Move the sculpture into place against a wall of the vehicle. Use tie-down straps to anchor the sculpture to the wall (unless the shape dictates that it can't be tied down).
- 6). Ride in the back with sculpture while someone drives you to your destination so you can ensure that the sculpture remains safe and secure.
- 7). Use the hand truck to remove the sculpture from the vehicle -- have the sculpture lifted out of the vehicle and placed onto the hand truck, if necessary. Transport the ice sculpture carefully to its ultimate destination.
