Boredom

• When it comes to achieving peace and quiet, boredom is the enemy. Try placing toys in the cage and periodically changing toys to keep the parrot occupied.
  
  

Greeting

• Most birds, including parrots, chatter in the early morning to greet the day. Parrots click and chatter to say "good morning" to their companions.

• Parrots are dependent upon routines and will make the same noises at the same time of day because of this.

• If the clicking noise is coming from the beak rather than the tongue, it may be a sign of agitation. If clicking is accompanied by arched wings and a lowered head, do not attempt to handle the bird until it has calmed down.
