How to Make G-Strings

    • 1). Measure the distance around your hips where the waistband of your g-string will lie. Mark where the waistband will lie in the front and the back of your body using the washable marker. Run the tape measure from the back point, through the legs and to the front point. These measurements will determine the length of material needed for the string.

    • 2). Measure the area on the front of your body where you wish to cover with fabric, the g-string's triangle piece. Remember to measure the horizontal space at the top of the triangle, the vertical lines following the joint of the legs to end down to the spot over your groin where the material will stop and the string begins.

    • 3). Subtract the horizontal length of the triangle piece from the total length of the measurement in step 1.

Draw the dimensions of the triangle piece previously measured onto a piece of fabric. Make sure the fabric covers the desired place on your body; redraw if it does not fit properly. When the triangle is the correct, cut the cloth piece out. A variety of material can be used for the triangle, such as cotton, silk, leather or mesh.

    • 4). Cut the waistband and rear string from a thin piece of elastic in the measured lengths from step 1. Using a sewing machine, sew a .25-inch hem on all three edges of the triangle piece of material. Sew the waistband elastic piece under the top hem of the triangle to create a rip-resistant g-string thong.

    • 5). Attach one end of the remaining elastic to the tip of the triangle piece using a secure stitch, such as the zigzag stitch. Attach the other remaining elastic tip to meet the back of the waistband elastic in the rear.
