What is LinkBaiting?
The term LinkBaiting or LinkBait has been running rampant around the internet and blogging community for several weeks and months now.
Link Baiting by many is considered to be a good thing in order to generate traffic to their blogs and or websites. Myself like many are searching for ways to drive more traffic to their sites and always looking for new way to do this. There are many SEO companies that have started to offer link baiting as a service that they offer to their customers in order to generate more revenue for their SEO companies. Still many SEO companies are steering away from this practice or using the term linkbaiting in their advertising.
The term Link Baiting has been floating around the internet for about 12 months now, so the question is what is Link Baiting?
LinkBaiting is a term that is used for many different practices to bring more links and generate traffic to a website or blog.
One of the ways linkbaiting is being used is too make several comments on high profile bloggers post and having a link on that post back too their individual post or somewhere in the comment have an enbeded link back. Another way is to have attractive post posted on high profile bloggers blogs that link back to their blog or website. Neither of these ideas are new or bad, they just are getting more noticed these days. High Profile bloggers have been teaching these two techniques for years.
In reality linkbaiting is nothing new and high profile bloggers have been doing these practices for sometime now. The term is new but the practice is not. All us bloggers that strive to drive more traffic to our blogs are doing some sort of linkbaiting.
In my own personal opinion linkbaiting is good for the most part as long as no one is getting hurt by something and it does not destroy the blogging industry. We are all trying to strive for the same thing and like I mentioned all the different practices that are now getting called linkbaiting have been around for years and now with all these practices are being grouped together and given a name called linkbaiting.
One just needs to practice good moral and ethical practices even in the blogging community and try to strive for the best in everything we do.
