29 Dining Options on the Norwegian Breakaway
The Norwegian Breakaway is a modern mega-cruise ship, carrying over 4000 passengers from its New York City home port on cruises to Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. The ship was launched in May 2013 and has 29 different dining options. Some are complimentary, and others are either priced a la carte or have an additional surcharge. All complimentary dining venues are open seating, but guests can use one of the many interactive screens scattered around the ship to either book a reservation or determine the status of open tables. Guests should secure a reservation using the same system for dinner in venues with an extra surcharge. Since the ship has a New York theme, some of the dining options have a link to this great city.
Let's take a closer look at some of the diverse Norwegian Breakaway dining venues. In addition to the dining options listed below, guests can enjoy casual dining at Spice H2O, a pizza anytime and most anywhere on the ship, or 24/7 room service. Those looking for a gourmet dining/wine pairing experience will want to check out the 9-course Chef's Table dinner.

The Manhattan Room has a large dance floor and features live music for listening or dancing. The restaurant also includes cabaret-style entertainment from the "Burn the Floor" dance troupe.
The Manhattan Room is a complimentary restaurant that serves traditional elegant menus with starters, entrees, and desserts.
Taste is the third complimentary main dining venue on the Norwegian Breakaway. It is located right across from Savor on deck 6 aft in the 678 Ocean Place hub. Since the menu is different in each of these three main dining rooms, guests can easily check them out before deciding where to dine. Like Savor, Taste is much smaller and more intimate than The Manhattan Room.
I'm not from New York, but residents and frequent visitors to the city will recognize the famous blue and yellow umbrella over the hot dog cart. The Norwegian Breakaway has three of these carts on the ship, all serving the same all-beef hot dogs and condiments you see in New York. Since they are complimentary on the ship, I think they'll be a great lunch or snack around the pool. This cart was located near Spice H2O, an adults-only area on the ship.
The Cirque Dreams dinner show has been very popular on the Norwegian Epic. So, it's not surprising that the entertainment genre has been continued on the Norwegian Breakaway, this time with Jungle Fantasy. Like other Cirque shows, this one combines theater, artistic athleticism, and imagination, so it should be a treat for guests of all ages. A cover charge (2013 rates of $29.99 for general seating in the banquets and upper deck and $39.99 for premium seating on the ground floor) applies.
There's also a Spiegel Tent Lunch and show for those looking for a daytime dining option in the venue.

The Manhattan Room is the Norwegian Breakaway's largest dining venue and is one of three main dining rooms on the ship. (The other two are Savor and Taste.)
