Before we get started let's define exactly what bond cleaning is. It's very similar to hiring a cleaning service for regular cleaning, but the main aim is to offer the type of service necessary for a complete and thorough cleaning to put the house or apartment where you are living in tip top shape, leaving it as pristine as possible. This type of cleaning is specifically geared towards those who are renting the property and who have placed a bond deposit, or cash amount down as a security deposit for any damage that may happen during the time they are renting the property. Damages can include stains on the carpet, holes in the walls, scratches on the floors, damage to the furniture, etc. The bond is held to cover the cost of any repairs, carpet cleaning, etc., that would have to be made should the tenant not take care of them before moving out.

Thorough Cleaning

Here are some of the things which a good cleaning company will do to ensure that your house will pass a bond cleaning inspection by the owner. In general they'll mop your hardwood floors, wipe down your skirting boards, clean your power points and switches, wardrobe shelves, drawers and mirrors too. Dust your venetian blinds, ceiling fans, cornices, and stair balustrades. Clean your light fittings, walls and doors, and make sure that all cobwebs are removed. They will also clean your windows inside and out, including the window tracks and screens. And they sweep and mop your balcony.

Kitchen and Bathrooms

In the kitchen the inside of your oven, your stove and range hood should be completely degreased and cleaned, as these areas accumulate a thick greasy film over time, your cabinets should also be cleaned inside and out, your sink and faucet cleaned till they shine, and even your dishwasher. Of course your floor should be thoroughly mopped too. Everything should be cleaned until it sparkles to make the best impression possible on your landlord.

For the bathroom the shower should be cleaned together with the screen and tiles. If there's any grout this should be removed too. Any exhaust fans should also be cleaned. The bathtub should be cleaned and rinsed out. The vanity, basin and taps must be cleaned also, and above everything, the toilet should be cleaned using bleach inside and out. Then the floors need to be mopped and you are done. The whole room should look and smell fresh.

Actually, if the cleaning company is any good, about the only thing they won't do is carpet cleaning, but they should leave every nook and cranny of the house spotless so that your landlord will have no complaints when he comes to look around. Remember that the only way you will get your bond money back is if your landlord is completely satisfied with the results of this massive cleaning. And you can expect him to be hard on you because this is his property and he wants to see it looking just like it did when he rented it to you.
