    Festivals

    • Throughout the year, Ellicottville hosts the Summer Festival of the Arts, a Jazz Weekend, the Taste of Ellicottville food festival, the Children's First Festival and the Fall Festival.

    Annual Competitions

    • The IBO Bowhunting Championship and Archery Festival in August, and the Ellicottville Golf Classic in September are scheduled at the Holiday Valley Resort. The Championship Rodeo is held each July 4th at Somerville Valley Stables.

    Holiday Events:

    • November's "Christmas in Ellicottville" features strolling carolers, breakfast and photos with Santa and his reindeer, and fire truck or horse-drawn carriage rides. At dusk, the town is aglow in white lights and fireworks. The December "Christmas Stroll" features tours of local churches and their displays, wagon rides, an ornament crafting session and cookies with Mrs. Claus. This is topped off with a parade and a live nativity scene with camel.

    Special Events

    • Browse Ellicottville's local "treasures" at its Town Wide Garage Sale in May. Immerse yourself in music and art at the American Folk and Music Fair in July. In September, pull out that poodle skirt for the Rock'N Oldies Weekend; it features live entertainment and an antique and custom car show.

    Year Round Activities

    • If you're not in town for the annual events, Ellicottville is surrounded by ski resorts and state parks. The Seneca-Allegany Casino, Seneca-Iroquois Museum and Seneca Rail Museum are nearby in Salamanca, and the nearby "Amish Trails" will introduce you to the hidden Amish of western New York.
