How to Make Your Own Homemade Deodorant
- 1). Thoroughly clean a small glass jar. An old baby food jar with a lid is the perfect size.
- 2). Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of petroleum jelly, 2 tablespoons of talcum powder and 4 to 6 drops of your favorite essential oil. Lavender essential oil, lemon essential oil or cedar essential oil are all good choices. Adding essential oil is optional. Essential oils are available at health food stores, natural pharmacies and online.
- 3). Mix all ingredients well.
- 4). Apply the deodorant to your underarms with a gauze pad or you can use cotton balls. Use a new gauze pad or cotton balls with each use. Wait for the deodorant to dry completely before getting dressed to avoid white marks on clothing.
- 5). Keep the deodorant tightly capped. Be sure to label the jar with all of the ingredients.
