Alaska has some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the United States: mountains, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, enormous trees and a variety of wildlife. These elements, combined with a 33,000-mile coastline--the longest of any state--make it a perfect destination for a cruise. Seattle, Washington, is a frequent embarkation port for cruises to Alaska. - Princess Cruise Lines has two round-trip cruises to Alaska from Seattle. The first is the 14-day Connoisseur Voyage Cruise, which Princess boasts as providing visits to more out of the way places than its competitors provide. According to the Princess website, the trip takes travelers to "Seward and Kodiak as well as popular Inside Passage ports of Juneau, Skagway, Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan." The trip ends with observing the glaciers in Glacier Bay National Park and a quick sojourn in Victoria, British Columbia. Princess' other cruise from Seattle is the Inside Passage Cruise, which can be a seven- or 10-day cruise, depending on preference. Passengers can see the Tracy Arm Fjord or Glacier Bay, depending upon the chosen schedule, and track the Gold Rush Trail on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad.
