    Invitations

    • The invitations not only give party guests details about the time and location, it can set the tone for the event. Paraffin wax can be very useful for personalizing these envelopes. For example, melt the paraffin wax down in a double boiler, adding food coloring to the wax until you reach your desired color. For example, you can use blue if the baby is going to be a boy or pink for a girl. Pour a drop of melted wax to seal the invitation shut and press a design into the wax with a metal stamp.

    Candle Decorations

    • Candles can be used as centerpieces or even gifts for the guests to take home. Collect a number of empty glass baby food jars. You can choose to keep the labels on or remove them by scraping away the glue adhesive under hot water. Insert a wick into the center of the jar, ensuring that the wick is longer than the top of the candle. Melt the wax in a double boiler, adding color as needed. Carefully pour the wax into the jar and allow it to cool as it hardens. Cut the wick to size after the candle is cooled.

    Candy Dishes

    • Another sweet craft for a baby shower is to make candy dishes that can be formed with paraffin wax. Cut a piece of fabric into a triangle. The fabric can be solid colors or feature decorative prints that one might see in crib bedding, such as farm animals, hearts or polka dots. Fold the two opposite corners together, then pull the middle point over them and seal with a diaper pin. While holding the fabric diaper by the back with metal tongs, dip the diaper in hot, melted wax. Place on wax paper to cool before filling with candy, nuts or other small gifts.

    Guestbook Stamps

    • The guest book can help keep track of who attended the baby shower for future reference. If the parents are unsure of the baby's gender, it can also be an opportunity for the guests to play a fun game. Open the guest book and designate one side of the book to guests who think it's going to be a girl and the opposing page to guests who think it will be a boy. Use paraffin wax to decorate either side of the box with stamps that say "baby girl" or "baby boy."
