How to Rotate Tires on a Chevy Impala

    • 1). Use 16-inch tires on base models and 17-inch on SS models. Make sure you have tires that were purchased at the same time before you begin rotation.

    • 2). Loosen all the lug nuts on each of the tires. Place a piece of wood under the back tires to keep the car from rolling while you jack up the front of the car.

    • 3). Place a jack on both sides under the front of the car. Lift the rear up on two more jack stands. The easiest way to rotate the tires without a hydraulic lift is to raise the entire car up at one time.

    • 4). Remove the front passenger side tire and roll it to the rear passenger side. Remove rear tire and replace it with the front tire. Repeat on the other side. Tighten lug nuts snugly, but not completely.

    • 5). Lower the rear first and replace the wood behind the tires. Lower the front end and then go around and tighten each lug nut to its tightest fit.
