How to Remove Leaf Stains on Automobile Finishes
- 1). Remove any remaining leaves from the car's surface by picking them up. Don't brush them off and allow them to rub across the car's surface, which could cause scratches.
- 2). Wash the area with car wash soap, a sponge and water. Rinse the area clear of soap and allow it to dry completely.
- 3). Wipe the area with wax and grease remover and a towel. This probably won't remove the stain, but it removes any other contaminants that could further damage the car's paint during the cleaning process.
- 4). Apply a rubbing compound to the leaf stains. Rub the compound on the surface using a towel and small, circular motions. This should remove the stains completely. Rub until the compound disappears. Wipe off any excess compound with the towel.
- 5). Use a small amount of car polish and a towel to polish the area that has been dulled by the rubbing compound. The leaf stains should no longer be visible.
