Backflip - Back Tuck

First things first, get a spotter! Don't try this on a trampoline, into a pool, or off your mom's mini van.
It's just not the same as the real deal.
Unfortunately none of these things will help you achieve a better understanding of this move.
You can trust me.
I was terrified of this move.
But hey, who wouldn't be.
Three billion years of evolution has taught us to stay away from activities involving a high risk of"Neck Breakage.
" You need a spotter.
Correct Spotter Technique Stand on the side of your "trick-ey" the person preforming the trick.
It doesn't matter which side you're standing on so just pick one.
You'll need to crouch a bit, legs about shoulder width apart (doesn't really matter how far apart, what ever you prefer.
) Now you'll need to put a hand on the back part of there upper leg.
It'll be between their knee joint and their but.
Your other hand well be placed near the middle of their back.
The hand their leg is going to be used to flip their legs over their head, and the hand on their back is going to be used to stabilize them.
Tip.
In order to be a good spotter you'll need to understand the back flip very well.
Alright, you've got a spotter so know it's your turn.
I'm going to explain this step by step so you know the technique well.
To truly get an understanding of this trick it'd be a good idea to see it.
There's a video tutorial on my site to help yeah.
The link is at the bottom of this article.
  • Step One.
Raise both arms up above your head.
Now you should be standing legs together/ or slightly apart and arms up
  • Step Two.
All at once bend your knees, swing your arms down, and get a good grip of the ground with your feet.
Note: some people tend to look towards the ground during this step.
    DON'T.
Keep your eyes straight forward or slightly looking above straight forward.
  • Step Three.
Again, all at once swing your arms up (this will give you crucial momentum) and jump.
Make sure you are jumping up and not back.
You want to jump up as high as you possibly can.
  • Step Four.
Wait until your feet have actually left the ground and your arms are just short of completely vertical (straight up in the air).
    Tip your head backwards.
  • Step five.
Chuck your knees into your chest as hard as you can and grab your ankles.
The backwards tilt of your head and the force of your knees being pushed up into your chest will roll you through the back flip/ back tuck.
  • Step Six -the landing- Once your rotation through the air is complete let go of your knees and extend your legs to land.
