How to Scrapbook for a Wedding
- 1). Gather pictures. If you're creating the book for a couple, recover as many baby or childhood pictures of the bride and groom as possible. These should be placed at the beginning of the book, so you can arrange the scrapbook to show the couple's journey through life.
Include pictures of the bride and groom during their young adult years and, of course, any pictures of the bride and groom together should be part of the scrapbook. Family photos deserve a section in the scrapbook as well--the couple's parents and siblings are likely an integral part of their lives; when the couple looks at the scrapbook, they want to be taken on a "journey," and photos are a great way to bring back fond memories. - 2). Gather fabric swatches to complement the photographs. Showcase the fabric of the bride's dress, the material of the groom's bow tie and the pieces of fabric that will be included in the wedding party's attire to give the couple another tangible reminder of their wedding. The fabric of the synthetic flowers from the flower girl's bouquet or from the bride's or bridesmaid's bouquet can grace the pages of the scrapbook as well. If possible, include a piece of lace from the bride's garter.
- 3). Take before-and-after pictures for the scrapbook. Once you find the venues for the ceremony and reception, take pictures of the locations while they are empty. During the decorating process, take pictures of how the space transforms to become exactly the place that you want. While the reception hall or chapel is being decorated, you can also catch some candid photos of your friends and family--these shots will add personal memories to your scrapbook.
- 4). Include pictures of the bride and groom preparing for the ceremony. Shots of the maid of honor helping the bride put on her veil, or photos of the groom buttoning his jacket will look great in the scrapbook. Other photos of the wedding party, such as the flower girl or bridesmaids, will fill the scrapbook with sentimental reminders. Still-life shots of the bride's shoes, jewelry and hairpieces add a nice touch, as well.
