How to Replace a Head Light
- 1). Allow your vehicle to cool for 20 minutes before beginning any work under the hood.
- 2). Locate the headlight you want to replace and begin unscrewing the screws that hold the metal band down. The metal band is located around the headlight and holds the head light in place. The screws are very small, so be sure to place them in a safe spot.
- 3). Remove the metal ring; it should pop right off once the screws are out. The headlight should be loose. Gently pull the headlight out, and unplug the electrical connector from the back. Discard the headlight.
- 4). Insert the new headlight unit and plug the electrical connector in. Put the metal band back in place and screw the small screws back to hold it securely in place.
- 5). Test your new headlight by turning your vehicle headlights on.
