    • 1). Use an ATM machine to convert your money from pounds to baht. An ATM is usually the best way to convert your money. You simply put in your card and withdraw Thai baht. The machine automatically does the conversion for you. There's typically a small charge from both the ATM machine and your bank, but the exchange rate is better than other places. Note that not all Thai ATMs will be in English.

    • 2). Visit a bank to convert your money. Most banks offer currency exchange, though they will charge you a fee to convert your money. You can do it in your bank in England before your trip or you can convert it once you get to Thailand. If you choose to convert the bulk of your money in Thailand, it's smart to convert a small bit of money at home first, so that you have enough cash to take a taxi to your hotel.

    • 3). Convert money at a currency exchange company. At the airports and in major tourist centers, you'll often see currency exchange companies. This is convenient, but the exchange rates are poor and the fees are high.

    • 4). Pay for goods and services with English money. Some vendors will allow you to buy their goods or services with English money, and they will return the change in Thai baht. This can be a convenient way to exchange money, though not all vendors offer this service.
