Alright now we're going to be talking about the round off. Again this is going to be your basis power, if you don't have a good round off you're not going to have good back hand springs, back tucks and combinations so this is a really really important one to work on. A round off is going to be basically almost like a cart wheel except we're going to put our feet together at the end and we're going to jump up at the end we call that a punch or rebound. So I'm going to demonstrate just a regular round off right here. We're going to stand here, reach again, hands out and push. Now unlike a cartwheel, you don't really want to have to your hands directly on a line. If you notice my hands, my hands are going to be a little bit more turned almost backwards halfway around by the time I put my hands on the ground so I'll demonstrate that again. I'll go a little bit slower. As you see my hands are turned a little bit more backwards, so when you're thinking about doing your cartwheels think of just turning your hands a little bit more and put your feet together at the end. A couple of drills that we're going to work on is to stretch out our round off and make it a little bit more powerful. The first part, these stack mats are really really good to use because you can do stuff over the top, you get a lot more stronger in your shoulders by using them. Here on this drill we're going to practice pushing in our shoulders. Once our hands hit on the mat, you'll see my shoulders push up like this almost in a shrugging motion as I push off that mat. So I'm going to reach, hands down, push. And you'll notice my hands are not on the ground by the time my feet hit the ground. It's so by the time I hit on the ground, I'm ready for a backhand springs or a back tuck, something that's a combination move. So again, this is what we don't want, we don't want our hands down on the ground while our feet hit like this. That shows no power and no pushing in the shoulders. So another good drill that you want to work on is getting your round off real stretched. So we're going to practice using the same mat but we're going to use it side ways. So we're going to go ahead and try and do a round off all the way over the top of this mat without touching our feet on it at all. And again you'll notice my arms are right here by my ears when I finish and I'm pushing my shoulders. I'll do that one more time. And that's going to be just some drills that you can work on for your round offs.
