Ohio's most abundant fall crop is Apples, with orchards stretching across the northern and central part of the state.Ohio's apple culture owes it's beginnings to Johnny Appleseed, ne John Chapman, an eccentric and colorful itinerant farmer who introduced apple trees to Ohio.

This easy apple cake recipe, from my grandmother, is a traditional preparation, that varies little from the Western Reserve pioneer days.
