    • 1). Slide under the engine block on your back, so that you are looking up at the bottom of the oil pan. Place the drain pan directly under the drain plug located on the bottom of the oil pan. Remove the plug, using the ratchet and 9/16-inch socket; drain the oil and replace the plug to the bottom of the oil pan and tighten it.

    • 2). Get out from under the engine and remove the oil drain pan from under the engine, as well. Open the hood and remove the screw that secures the plastic cover to the front top of the engine, using the screwdriver. Pull the cover off the engine.

    • 3). Turn the oil filter counterclockwise until it comes off of the engine. Place the new filter onto the engine and turn it clockwise until the filter is snug. Replace the cover to the top of the engine and tighten the screws.

    • 4). Remove the oil cap from the top of the engine and pour the new engine oil into the engine. Replace the cap to the engine and close the hood.
