Here is an Easy and Fun Method For Overcoming Social Anxiety
While this method will not cure your social anxiety entirely it will go a long way to helping you in overcoming social anxiety.
The crux of this method is to remind yourself what you've got going for you.
If ask a person with social anxiety what they have going for themselves I can bet you that 99% will say nothing! If you thought the same then you are in the grip of black and white thinking.
Take a minute to think again, we all have an enormous number of resources available to us with which we can navigate our way through life.
The problem is that most of us take them for granted, forget or even deny them.
You must not allow yourself to fall into this trap of negative thinking; continually remind yourself of what you have going for yourself and your past successes.
Even bad experiences contain valuable lessons.
If you had bad boyfriends or girlfriends in the past it means that you could at least make relationships work.
If you've ever carried out responsibilities in the past whether it was at your job or in the home it all counts as an important resource.
Here an exercise for you - write a list of everything that you've got going for you.
Be thorough nothing is too big or to small.
Reminding yourself of everything that you've got going will help you to access your resources more easily, build your confidence, think more positively and go a long way to help you in overcoming social anxiety.
