The Bottom Line
There's just something about a kitchen filled with antiques and collectibles that makes me feel all warm and cozy. It takes us back to the time when the kitchen was the true heart of the home. When the kitchen table was where it all happened from homework, letter writing, sewing to finally eating dinner. That's what this book did for me, it's not only a pictorial price guide, it was also a scrapbook of memories.

Guide Review - Antique Trader's Kitchen Collectibles Price Guide
Kitchen Collectibles is a divided into two sections, Vintage from 1850 to 1920 and Modern Kitchen from 1920 - 1980.
Vintage Kitchen
Terrific photos of antique coffee mills filled about 12 pages of the book, along with several pages of antique cookie cutters, followed by crockery, furniture and utensils. Interested in egg beaters? Dozens of pictures show beaters valued from $15. to $1250.
Modern Kitchen
I thoroughly enjoyed this section with so many happy faces on egg cups and timers, creamers, napkin dolls, salt and peppers, reamers and string holders. There is also a large section on glassware, as well as a small chapter on utensils.
The modern kitchen collectibles shown in the book are quite affordable and would be a good place to start for beginning collectors. Carry this book along with you when shopping antique malls and flea markets. That's where many of these treasures will be found and with a copy of the book, you'll know what's a fair price. And when you're inevitably drawn to the antique, more costly items, Kitchen Collectibles will help guide you along the way.
