    Remove the Switch

    • 1). Open the hood and detach the battery ground (black) cable with a wrench.

    • 2). Unfasten the two screws from the upper steering column cover with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the cover.

    • 3). Unfasten the three screws from the lower steering column cover with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the cover.

    • 4). Locate the ignition switch on the opposite side of the ignition lock cylinder (where you insert the key to start your car). This is a small plastic cylinder with an electrical harness connected on the end.

    • 5). Unplug the switch electrical connector carefully, depress the two tabs located inside the two plastic ears on each side of the unit and remove the switch from the assembly.

    Install the Switch

    • 1). Compare the old switch to the new one to make sure you have the correct replacement for your particular model. Install the switch on the assembly, making sure the two tabs on each side lock the switch in place and plug in the switch electrical connector.

    • 2). Position the lower steering column cover in place, install the three mounting screws and tighten the screws with the Phillips screwdriver.

    • 3). Position the upper steering column cover in place, install the two mounting screws and tighten the screws with the Phillips screwdriver.

    • 4). Attach the battery ground (black) cable with the wrench.

    • 5). Close the hood.
