5 Caribbean Honeymoon Tips
The islands are numerous and varied, with many excellent beach destinations among them.
For most people, this is truly the ideal honeymoon choice.
Here are five tips for you if you're looking at honeymooning in the Caribbean.
1.
Consider a cruise! This is the perfect way to visit multiple Caribbean destinations in just one trip.
Cruises themselves can be inherently luxurious, meaning you'll enjoy your time on the boat nearly as much as you'll enjoy your time on each island.
Cruise ships often have their own bars, clubs, shows, theatres, shops, and excellent dining facilities.
If you're uncertain, do a bit of research on the individual companies and lines before you head out.
2.
Choose which island you're honeymooning on wisely - or island hop! Every island is just that little bit different, so you should pay attention to the vibe you're going for, especially if you actually plan to leave the resort every once in a while.
You'll want to know what kind of restaurants are around, for example, and whether there's anything fun to do in the vicinity.
Some islands cater more for exploration than others.
For example, the Cayman Islands have a quite fascinating Grand Cayman Blue Iguana centre where you can spot these elusive creatures in the wild.
These sort of excursions can be a great day out.
3.
Bring along the essentials.
The Caribbean is fairly popular, so in reality you won't need too much.
If you're staying on a resort or a particularly remote island, however, it's well worth bringing along the essentials just in case you can't get hold of them.
Headache pills, for example, are something you should carry in your purse at all times.
And bring multiple swimsuits - no one likes to put a clammy suit on in the morning.
4.
Be careful on when you book.
Some of the Caribbean islands offer bargain prices during hurricane season.
While you probably won't be victim to a hurricane, it's worth knowing which islands are likely to be hit and which aren't.
Then, if you do decide to go for a honeymoon during this time, don't skip out on insurance! Make sure hurricane cover is included.
That way, you'll probably still get your cheap dream honeymoon, but if the worst happens you won't have lost anything.
You'll just have to go last minute somewhere else.
5.
Think about a package deal.
Because the Caribbean is so popular, there are many offers along these lines.
You can easily save a surprising bundle of money by choosing to go all-inclusive.
You'll be paying more outright, but this can easily pay off by not having to go for expensive meals or transfers while on your holiday.
It's really up to you - if you do intend to dine out and there are more places to visit on your chosen island, all-inclusive may not be for you.
But if you're going to a resort and highly doubt you'll leave, all-inclusive is likely to be the better option.
A Caribbean honeymoon can make all of your dreams come true.
