America's biggest city isn't just a huge tourist draw because of its size, instead it's the fantastic array of cultural offerings and exciting attractions that ensure its streets are always bustling with enthralled visitors and locals alike. New York City is a world hub for anything from high fashion to emerging theatre movements, meaning it's a holiday destination with something to offer all kinds of travellers. What's more, with a breathtaking skyline and a plethora of iconic buildings and landmarks, there are plenty of people who visit New York for the sights alone.

New Yorkers know how to think and talk fast, so holidaymakers are sure to get a real taste of the city as soon as they hit its shops, bars and cafes. Culture vultures will find New York is a treasure trove of galleries, from large establishments to small venues with cutting edge collections. The Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Central Park and the New Museum of Contemporary Art are a few that shouldn't be missed on a trip to New York City. Those who prefer theatre will also be in for a treat, as the city is home to one of the world's most vibrant theatrical communities. Book shows on the bright lights of Broadway for some slick productions or check out some of the many small companies to be found playing any night of the week.

As such a centre for art, shopping and culture, it's good to know that New York hotels are plentiful and good accommodation is not hard to come by. Make sure you book ahead if there's a specific area of the city you really want to stay in though.
