This island is a place rich in culture. Because of the vivid cultural life, there are many celebrations and festivals held here; it is almost impossible to travel here and miss an important event. In April, they have the Anzac day; the Vesak Day celebrations are held in May; August is the Month of the Hungry Ghost; and in November the Deepavali celebrations are held.

Christmas Island is a true paradise for bird watchers. Just take your binoculars and go bird watching on the island, as you will not be disappointed.

The island itself can be explored by car. You can rent a vehicle from one of the local companies. It's easier to reach the national park and other important places on the island by car.

The migration of the red crabs is a great sight you can enjoy when on the island. The creatures embark on a true adventure, trying to reach the sea in order to breed. At the start of the monsoon season, you will get the best experience of this kind.
