How to Make the KLX250 Louder
- 1). Release the clip at the rear of the seat and lift it up. Remove it completely in order to access the air box underneath. Locate the rubber breather hose leading from the top of the air box. Pull it out and discard it. This will increase the air intake, which will give you a louder, more raw sound.
- 2). Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to release the ring clip holding the exhaust silencer to the exhaust downpipe under the seat. Locate the bracket securing the silencer to the rear subframe. Remove the screws holding the bracket to the frame.
- 3). Have a friend sit on the bike to hold it still. Stand behind the bike and grip the silencer with both hands. Grip it firmly and twist it back and forth until you loosen it enough to slide it off the downpipe.
- 4). Slide the new exhaust into the subframe into the space occupied by the old one. Don't push it onto the exhaust downpipe yet.
- 5). Pick up a pea-sized amount of exhaust paste and smear it all around the tip of the down-pipe. Pick up another pea-sized amount and paste it around the inside of the exhaust silencer.
- 6). Slide the exhaust onto the downpipe and tighten the ring clip. Re-attach the mounting bracket for the exhaust.
