Finding Reliable and Truthful Information in a Pay Per Head Review Guide
Are the sites listed from different companies?
This is something you would automatically assume is true if it is coming from a review site, but that is not always the case. At times, sites will only review their own sites. You may see staggered results (a point we will explore in a few minutes), but you should see a wide variety of sites as well.
It is not out of the ordinary for any one company to operate numerous URLs for their services. This helps them fill up the search results and beat the competition. However, because they own multiple URLs, they can create a review site that takes a look at three or four different sites. Unfortunately for the reader, all of these sites are owned by the same company. It may look legit at quick glance, but after a phone call or two, you will know each URL is pointed to the same business.
Is the contact information listed for each service?
Another ploy used is to not have a URL or phone number posted except for the site the owner is trying to direct the reader to. For instance, let's assume I am an affiliate for XYZ pay per head. I may have reviews for five or six companies, but not have any information in regard to URL address or phone number. My hope would be that out of sheer convenience, you actually use the one site with a link.
Are the features explained and rated?
This is an extremely important aspect of any review. You cannot merely have a first person experience. You need to know what each service offers, as what is important to you may not be highly rated by the reviewer. This is not to say their review is biased, it is just that a feature that is extremely important and vital to you may not have been a major need for the person that actually did the review.
All of the sites should be ranked. One or two sites will probably lead the pack, but the ratings should be realistic. In other words, out of 10 sites, 9 of them should not garner a 2-star rating with only one company winning the 5-star rating. Instead, there should be an editor's choice or one top winner, then you will more than likely see the rest of the sites falling one or two levels behind the best site. This is more realistic, especially since most of these companies are offering very similar services.
Did the review test drive the software?
Again, very important because it will immediately let you know if you are on the same page as the reviewer. For instance, you visit the first site the reviewer loved and you cannot stand the agent page and think the player page is too difficult to manage. Obviously, the expectations of each side are different, so you may be best served to find another review site where you and the reviewer see eye to eye.
