How to Paint Skating Logos on a Wall
- 1). Load an image of the logo on your computer. (If you can't find one on the Web, scan one in.) If you're going to use the overhead method, print an image of it that is at least 6" by 6". If you're going to use the carbon paper method, print it out in the size you would like it to appear on the wall. (Use more than one piece of printer paper if needed.) Follow either step two or step three, depending on your preference.
- 2). Use the overhead method by placing the image on the glass on top of the projector. Turn the projector on and point the head so it projects the image onto the wall. (Make sure you have the paper facing the right way so it doesn't show up either upside down or backwards.) Trace the image with a charcoal pencil to transfer it to the wall.
- 3). Copy the image using carbon paper by taping a sheet of carbon paper to the wall directly behind each sheet of paper used to print out the skating logo image. (If you used more than one sheet of paper, piece them together like a mosaic.) Then, trace over all of the lines on the print-out, pressing very hard. The carbon paper will make an outline on the wall.
- 4). Mix all of the colors of paint you will need for your logo by putting the paint in a bowl or on a palette and stirring it with the brush. Make more of any custom color than you think you'll need since it will be hard to match later.
- 5). Start painting using the lightest color first, since it will be the easiest to paint over if you make a mistake. Wait for this color of paint to dry. Then cover the painted sections with masking tape. (Trim the tape with the scissors so it is an exact fit.) Proceed to the second color. Repeat this procedure until the entire logo is finished.
