How to Remove Solvent From a Windshield
- 1). Blot any visible solvent off the windshield with a soft, dry cloth.
- 2). Mix a solution of mild liquid detergent and water according to the package directions for general cleaning. Saturate a soft, clean cloth with the solution, and wash the area near the windshield. Rinse with water, and dry with another cloth or with a squeegee.
- 3). Spray the area you washed with window cleaner if you see any streaks. Wipe the window cleaner off with a clean, soft cloth as soon as you finish spraying.
- 4). Turn your ignition on, and run your windshield wipers while dispensing windshield washer fluid for a minute or so. Your windshield should now appear fully clean with no streaks or traces of stains. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 if any stains or streaks remain.
