Vikings are the warriors and seafarers of yore in the Northern part of Europe.
Geographically, they come from countries like Denmark and Norway.
Historically, they sailed the seas, looking for new lands to pillage and plunder or rule.
You can find their influences in several other countries in this continent such as England and France.
Stories of their courage and feats can be found in several history books and novels.
However, the Norse deities are not as well-known as the Romans' or the Greeks'.
Recently, thanks to numerous films made with these North men in the lead, their popularity is gradually increasing.
This Halloween, you would be spending your money well on a nice Viking costume, indeed.
When looking for a set, it should include these components.
Tunic - The Basics of a Viking Costume If kimonos are the main clothing of the Japanese, tunics are the staple in European countries in history.
This serves as an undergarment although some people also use it as a sleeping gown as well.
When browsing through the internet for a costume set with a tunic in it, you might want to look for one which is made of natural fabrics such as wool or linen.
Some of the ones offered in Viking costume sets are made of polyester, which is alright as well, considering that this is cheaper.
It would be better if you go for the light-colored ones, like cream or white.
Anything with Fur Norsemen, as explained earlier, live in the northern part of Europe.
This means that the climate here is unbearably cold at times.

Capes, mufflers for the neck, head gears, boots and even wrist guards are either made of fur or have fur in it.
The Horned Helmet One of the most distinct pieces in a Viking costume is the horned helmet or head gear.
The real one is made of metal with real animal horns.
The faux ones found in costume sets are either made of really light aluminum or hard plastic.
Sword, Shield and other Nordic Weapons When the Vikings are out raiding towns and looting them of their treasures, they are geared for war.
One is pretty much useless without a huge sword, wooden or metal shield (often shaped round) and other weapons necessary to succeed.
Naturally, the ones you will get for your costume is made of plastic.
Unfortunately, most of these are not really included in the set and is sold separately.
Then again, if you really want to look the part, you might as well get one.
There are several Viking costume sets which you can find on the internet.
