Do it Yourself Wedding Canopies
- 1). Mix the cement in the bucket according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 2). Center the PVC pipe in the flower pots one at a time. Fill each pot with cement about 1/3 of the way. Make sure you have covered any holes in the flower pots. Let the cement dry before moving.
- 3). Insert the dowels into the PVC pipes. Make sure they are not easily knocked over.
- 4). Add soil to the pots. Plant flowers or ivy in the pots.
- 5). Position the pots how you want them set up for the ceremony. Measure the distance between each pole and from the top of the pole to the ground. You can have the fabric just cover the top of the poles or have the fabric fully cover three sides of the canopy.
- 6). Lay out the fabric and cut out the side that you will need. Whether you are covering only the top or three sides of the canopy, you can cut out a panel for each instead of one large piece of fabric.
- 7). Sew a 1/2-inch hem for all of the fabric.
- 8). Use ribbon to make two loops for each panel, four loops for the top panel. This is how the canopy will attach to the poles. Make sure each loop is not too large. They should fit snugly on the pole.
