How to Mix Powdered Fertilizer in a Hose End Sprayer
- 1). Remove the lid of the hose end sprayer and set it aside.
- 2). Add the recommended amount of powdered fertilizer mix into the can of the sprayer. The amount to add varies based on the number of square feet of garden or lawn to be fed. The following should be used as a general guideline:
30-by-40-foot area (1,200 square feet): 1 packet, 26 ounces or 52 tablespoons
30-by-20-foot area (600 square feet): 1/2 packet, 13 ounces or 26 tablespoons
30-by-10-foot area (300 square feet): 1/4 packet, 6-1/2 ounces or 13 tablespoons - 3). Close the can by screwing the lid of the hose end sprayer onto the can.
- 4). Place a rubber washer into the garden hose connection end of the hose end sprayer.
- 5). Turn the water on and feed the garden or lawn by walking in a crisscross pattern over the feeding area. Repeat every 14 to 28 days.
