"The Economist" Theories and Observations
The Economist Theories
- The clock in the rocket was 31 minutes ahead of the one on the island. I think that on the island time moves slower. This would account for Richard Alpert's lack of aging.
- Based on what Sayid found in the secret room, Ben must travel off the island quite often. I think this room and this stuff is hidden because most of the people on the island don't know that he does this.
- Ben tells Sayid that it's no use having friends you can't trust. We didn't see what happened between that and Locke entering to talk to Sayid. I think Sayid and Ben made a deal then and there. Ben explained something to Sayid to get him on Ben's side. I think from here on out, Sayid is working with Ben.
- I think Sayid took Miles to the Barracks knowing that he may have to trade him for Charlotte.
- Something happens with the dead bodies on the island. It seems that the smoke monster is able to take their form. I think that Ben knows this and doesn't want Naomi's body to be on the island. I think he told Sayid to do whatever he can to get her body off the island.
- Perhaps those working for a certain person all have the same bracelet. I also think there is some connection to Nadia there. Perhaps Sayid remembers her having the same bracelet.
Observations from The Economist
- It was so hard for Jack to let Kate go with Sayid and let Sawyer protect her rather than Jack protecting her, but he had to because of Locke.
- Sayid says that the day he starts trusting Ben is the day he would have sold his soul, yet he seems to be trusting him in his flash forward. Has he sold is soul or changed his mind about Ben? Or was he just saying that to throw Locke off after he had already made a deal with Ben?
- Like he did with Essam (Ep: 1x21, The Greater Good), Sayid warned Elsa at the last second to try to get her out of harm's way. But like with Essam, that ended badly.
