Also in Long Beach, you must try chef John McLaughlin's At Last Café, located on Orange Avenue. This small and causal café, is definitely a must for all of the foodies out there. Another favorite here is the home-style mac and cheese which is rich and savory and has the perfect amount of cheesy goodness. In neighboring Torrance, there are two must-visit restaurants; Aristo Café and Bombay Tandoori. Some of the most popular dishes you'll find here include the beef kabob and hummus, lamb chops and their locally famous baklava. This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner hours but closed in between. Bombay Tandoori, located on the Pacific Coast Highway, specializes in Indian cuisine. If you really want to have a nice dinner while visiting Carson, you'll want to take the short trip up to Hollywood to dine at Mastro's Steakhouse. While the prices do tend to be a bit high, every item on the menu is well worth the price. Some of the favorites here include the lobster mashed potatoes, wasabi Caesar salad, Kansas City strip steak and crab cakes, just to name a few. While reservations are not required they are highly recommended, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

For those who love Japanese food, you will not want to miss Kagaya, located in the Little Tokyo district of Los Angeles on East 2nd Street. The food here is prepared fresh to order and while the prices can be a bit steep the care and ingredients that go into making each menu item makes it well worth it. Some of the favorite items here are the beef shabu shabu, steamed sea bass, wasabi soup with duck breast and the Waygu Beef.

For the best high-end pizza in the Los Angeles area, you need to visit Pizzeria Mozza. This modern-style pizzeria was created by the famous chef Mario Batali and baker Nancy Silverton. The pizzas here are cooked to order in a wood-burning oven and the crowd is always eclectic. If planning on dining here for lunch be sure to get there a little before noon to have a better chance at getting a good seat as it fills up quickly. Regular patrons to Pizzeria Mozza know that the best seats in the house are at the bar.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the Carson area is actually in Carson itself, located on East Dominguez Street. Pho King Way offers a great selection of authentic, traditional Vietnamese dishes like lots of different pho dishes of course and bun mi, Don't let this restaurants funny name fool you, the food is seriously good! The prices are fair and the restaurant is open from 11am to 10 pm everyday of the week. Don't forget to pick up a Pho King Way t-shirt to commemorate your visit!
