Binding machines are used binding loose pages, plastic covers or other materials using plastic ad metal wires. Binding machines should be lubricated frequently in order to maintain proper working. All the parts of the machine that are involved in motion needs to be lubricated. Binding machine lubrication should be applied after every four or five hours of machine use. Before oiling, take off the cover and rotate the hand-wheel in the normal rotating direction to locate all movable contact points on the machine. Continue to keep the machine rotating while oiling it, in order to ensure that all parts are well lubricated.

There are variety of binding machines available mainly comb binding machine, electrical binding machine, wire binding machine classified on the basis of materials used. In case of manual binding machine each point must be lubricated with a small drop of oil. Special attention is to be given to parts such as the hook race and the corresponding bobbin case as well as the needle bar because they are the main wear areas.

The electrical binding machines are fitted with automatic oiling systems. Automatic oiling systems can lubricate all parts at regular intervals. The oil in automatic systems can be distributed evenly using a pump. In automatic oiling systems, oil is filled in a reservoir. Larger oil reservoirs have calibrated oil indicator levels like the one used in digital copier machine.

Now a days Binding machine come along with paper folding machine. A paper folding machine is a machine used for folding paper before feeding it into binding machine. There are many high speed folding machines which along with a good binding machine gives very good result.
