Blood Pressure

• Arcoxia increases blood pressure levels in some patients, putting them at risk for heart attack or stroke. For this reason, people being treated for hypertension, heart disease, or other cardiovascular conditions typically are not candidates for Arcoxia treatment.
  
  

Other Cardiovascular Side Effects

• Arcoxia sometimes causes heart palpitations, abnormal heart rhythms and heart failure.
  
  

Other Organs

• In some patients, Arcoxia causes acute kidney or liver failure. Doctors typically avoid prescribing it to patients with liver or kidney disease.
  
  

Mental Side Effects

• Arcoxia sometimes causes dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations and anxiety in patients. Other side effects include headache and insomnia.
  
  

Other Side Effects

• Some other side effects of Arcoxia are diarrhea, heartburn, swelling of the legs and feet, vomiting, wheezing, taste alteration, mouth ulcers and a decrease in blood platelets.
