- 1). Locate 13-character application receipt number on notices you have received from USCIS regarding your immigration case. The receipt number begins with three letters, such as EAC, WAC, LIN or SRC.
- 2). Go to USCIS website and click on link "Resources" at top of web page.
- 3). View Tools column on right side of the Resources web page and click on link "Check My Case Status."
- 4). Enter 13-character application receipt number in the Current Case Status search field. Eliminate dashes when typing your receipt number into search field.
- 5). Review your immigration case status on USCIS website. You will see steps your immigration application has already completed and which steps are still needed for completion before your application is fully processed and accepted.
- 6). Sign up for an account on USCIS website if you wish to receive updates on your immigration case through email or text message. Standard messaging rates may apply to receive notices on your case from the USCIS on your mobile phone.
- 7). Call USCIS Customer Service line at 1-800-375-5283 if would like to inquire about your case status over the phone.
