What Are Silent Raids - An Overview on the Crackdown on Illegal Immigration Employment

We all know what illegal immigration is, after all it is self-explanatory.
But the operative word in this type of immigration is the word; Illegal.
In other words it is illegal to come into our country, sneak over the border, and plan to stay here.
And we have such things as work visas, and special work programs for those that want to come to work and stay for a spell, and then return to their home countries later.
Many people argue that it's not an immigrant's fault who sneaks over the border because they are just coming here to build a better life, and to work.
And they suggest that if the jobs weren't available, people wouldn't come here.
So, on one hand employers will hire illegal aliens, and on the other hand it is illegal for people to come and get the jobs being offered.
You can see the dilemma, and perhaps it's very similar to the illegal drug trade.
In other words, people wouldn't sell drugs if there were not people to buy them, and people couldn't buy drugs if they could get a hold of them from as drug dealer.
Yes, and which came first; the chicken or the egg? "The Obama Administration intensified a crackdown on employers of illegal immigrants, notifying another 1000 companies in all 50 states that the government plans to inspect their hiring records," according to an article in the Wall Street Journal published on June 16, 2011 titled "More 'Silent Raid' Over Immigration" by Miriam Jordan.
This is interesting really because on one hand the Obama Administration had filed a federal lawsuit against the State of Arizona for enforcing federal law, and AZ passed this law because the federal government refused to enforce it themselves.
And now according to this article there have been 2338 employers silently raided, 157 criminal arrests of business owners, and $7.
1 million in fines, and the deportation of 262,282 illegal immigrant workers.
It's hard to say what President Obama's actual policy is on these matters, because on one hand he is giving speeches explaining that what the State of Arizona did was wrong, and it is interesting that rather than enforcing the border, we are moving to put business owners in jail, and making them the scapegoat and bad guy.
Nevertheless, we can expect more of these silent immigration raids, and more fines and jail terms for employers that hire illegal immigrants.
Yes, this is one component of the challenge, but if our borders leak is bad as they do, they we really aren't protecting the American people, and meanwhile our immigration courts are stuffed full with waiting lists a mile-long.
Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
