    • 1). Design the button bud using two or three different buttons in various sizes and colors. The colors provide a contrast so you can see each individual button that is arranged for each bud. Mix and match the buttons until you come up with a combination you like. Stack the buttons in order from largest on the bottom to the smallest button on top.

    • 2). Cut 2 feet of 24-gauge wire with wire cutters. Each piece of 2-foot wire is meant to construct one button bud stem.

    • 3). Thread one end of the wire through one side of the button holes. Each button has two holes. Loop the wire over the button, bringing the end through the second hole and down to where the other end is. Position the threaded buttons in the middle of the wire.

    • 4). Twist the wire with your hands, beginning just below the large button. Twist it all the way down to help the stem and buttons stay secure. Make 50 to 100 stems in order to create a full bouquet of buttons. If you just want to accent a floral bouquet with buttons, you can make three to seven button buds.

    • 5). Wrap the bottom 5 inches of all the wires with floral tape. Make several rounds with the tape so the layers help the wire stay together effectively. Now that the stems are all connected, you have a button bouquet.
