Tasty Paleo Recipes - 6 Tips to Add Variety to Your Paleo Meals
In this article, I'll be recommending 6 easy tips you can use to make Paleo food taste better.
These easy tips will be especially important if you are bored of the same Paleo meals. It's quick and easy to add a lot of healthy flavour and variety to your Paleo recipes.
Here are the 6 tips to make Paleo food taste better:
Tip 1. Spice up Roast Vegetables
Slice butternut pumpkin/squash or sweet potato, add coconut oil (sometimes called coconut butter) and sprinkle the vegetables with cinnamon and nutmeg. I prefer to roast my pumpkin/squash and sweet potato with the skin on to maximise nutrients - I eat the pumpkin skin and peel the sweet potatoes after cooking. Delicious! Ideal Paleo carbs immediately after a primal workout.
Tip 2. Healthy Homemade Salad Dressing
Mix olive oil (ideally organic, cold-pressed), freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice, crushed garlic (optional), salt and pepper in a sealed jar. Shake and drizzle over salad. Apple cider, balsamic and red wine vinegars are also great for Paleo salads. For additional crunch, add seeds and nuts to salads.
Tip 3. Chicken Marinade
Paprika and turmeric give chicken a tasty kick and bright, natural colour. You can also add garlic and chili/cayenne powder for a hotter flavour.
Tip 4. Marinade for Beef or Game Meat (such as kangaroo)
Red wine vinegar, fresh garlic, lime juice, chili powder salt and pepper. Ideally marinate overnight, or 1-4 hours before cooking. Great on beef and game meat, such as kangaroo. Cook on a low heat and be careful not to burn the marinade.
Tip 5. Lamb Marinade
Combine natural yoghurt (Greek, organic or raw), lemon juice, garlic, cumin and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Cover lamb with mixture and marinate for 30 minutes before grilling.
Tip 6. Fish Marinade - Baked Ocean Trout
Marinate trout in oil, salt and pepper, turmeric, and lemon juice. Cover and leave in the fridge for approximately 1 hour. Bake fish for 15minutes in oven at 180 degrees Celsius / 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Feel free to also experiment with dry spice rubs, which are easy to apply and easy to cook with. Remember, when selecting spices, herbs, oils, wines and vinegars - organic is best and how Mother Nature intended food to be.
I hope you've found these 6 tips useful. Remember, making Paleo food taste better is easy, just add a few herbs, spices, marinades or salad dressing - experiment and enjoy the taste.
