    Use a Different Cycle

    • Turn off "Automatic Drying" mode and select a timed cycle. Automatic cycles use the moisture sensors inside the drum to calculate the length of the cycle. Timed cycles end after a preset period of time regardless of the amount of moisture.

Take Clothes Out of the Drum

    • Reduce the size of the load; heavy items such as blankets, duvets and upholstery take longer to dry and greatly increase the length of the cycle in automatic mode. Consider breaking the load in half; one dryer load should equal one washer load.

    Clean the Lint Screen

    • Slide the lint screen out of the door frame, wipe away the gathered dust and return it to its slot. You should clean away lint at the end of every cycle to ensure air is able to circulate properly among the clothes. The cycle may be longer in automatic mode if the lint screen is clogged.

    Check the Exhaust

    • Run the dryer empty and stand by the exhaust vent outside; you should feel a steady stream of air if the vent is properly installed and free of blockages. Disconnect the exhaust and check for stray dryer sheets, dust and other obstructions. Straighten out any kinks in the pipe, making sure it is at least 4 inches in diameter. Poor air circulation as a result of a narrow pipe may extend the dryer cycle in automatic mode.

    Consider Moving the Dryer

    • Move the dryer if there is less than an inch of room at the sides and less than 5 inches of space at the back. Air must be allowed to circulate around the dryer when it is in use for the best drying results.
