How to Remove the Lower Wash Arm on a Maytag Dishwasher MDB7000AWW

    • 1). Turn off the circuit breaker to the Maytag dishwasher. Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower dish rack. The dish rack simply pulls straight out of the dishwasher.

    • 2). Hold the lower wash arm with one hand and place the palm of your free hand over the center coupling nut. Press down firmly on the coupling nut and turn it counterclockwise. Remove the coupling nut from the wash arm.

    • 3). Find the small triangular piece of plastic in the center of the arm around the shaft. Pull the triangular piece of the shaft with a pair of needle nose pliers.

    • 4). Lift the lower wash arm off the plastic lock on the top of the shaft. You will need to use some force to unsnap the wash arm from the lock.
