How to Connect the Heater Hose in a Buick Regal 2000
- 1). Start your Buick Regal and turn the heater off. Allow the Regal to run for about five minutes then switch off the engine. Shift the car into park and set the parking brake.
- 2). Pop the hood on your 2000 Buick Regal by pulling the hood latch located on the driver's side. Extend the hood to the fullest open position. Wait for the engine to cool off for at least an hour.
- 3). Unscrew the radiator cap by turning it counterclockwise 90 degrees. Press down on the cap firmly and continue to turn until the cap pops off the engine.
- 4). Cut off the old heater hose. Slit the hose lengthwise then pull off the heater core and passenger compartment bibs (nipples). Use a piece of sandpaper to buff out any remaining hose bits on the bibs where the hose is attached.
- 5). Measure and cut the new heater hose to size. Spread a few drops of liquid dish soap on the inside of each end of the hoses. Loosely attach the two clamps on the end of the hose.
- 6). Slip the hose over the engine bib and the passenger compartment bibs. Tighten the hose clamps.
- 7). Start the Buick Regal. Top off the radiator with distilled water.
