How to Pick up Food Orders from Angel Food Ministries
Instructions
1Place your order. Angel Food Ministries offers a variety of package options for customers to order. Each host site has a prescheduled order date. You need to call ahead to find out what day and time the orders need to be placed. Take your payment with you to place your order. You can pay for the items by cash, check, or food stamps. For food stamp purchases, make sure to bring your card with you.
2
Check the pick up date and time. When you place your order, you will be given a small yellow receipt that lists the pick up date and time. Do not lose the receipt. You will need it for proof of your purchase when picking up your food. The pick up date varies each month, so make sure to mark it down on your calendar so you won’t miss it.
3
Bring your own containers. The Angel Food Ministries program does not provide bags or boxes for picking up your monthly orders on the order date. For a basic monthly order you will need to bring a medium-sized box or laundry basket with you. If you are picking up an order that includes several of their basic packages and specials, a large plastic tub should fit all of the items.
4
Arrive at the host site. Angel Food Ministries distributes their products to over 4,800 volunteer host sites around the nation. You will need to arrive at your local host site within the scheduled time. If you do not reach the site in the time allotted, your food order will be donated to someone in need, and the money will not be refunded. Most host sites have a sign directing you to the pick up location.
5
Pick up your order. Once you have arrived at the host site, you will need to check in with the volunteer staff. Give your yellow payment receipt to the staff member. You can then place your order for the next month or be seated and wait for your purchases to be gathered. When they are ready to complete your pick up, a host site member will place the food in your container while another volunteer marks each item off of the order list. Once your order is filled, a volunteer staff member will help you load the items into your vehicle.
