Mount Willard, towering above Crawford Notch in northern New Hampshire, offers an array of ice climbs and mixed routes on its East Face. One of the best is “Dial M for Murder” (M8), established by Eric McCallister. Here Jim Ewing climbs steep and wild mixed terrain to an overhang that leads to draped curtains of ice.
