Adults ages 18 and over have several options for nightclubbing in Seattle. The state of Washington limits sale of alcohol to individuals over the age of 21. Many bars and nightclubs restrict entry to people under the age of 21 because they find it difficult to monitor alcohol sales to customers once they have already entered the establishment. Other nightclubs, however, have created strategies that allow those under 21 to enjoy the club's entertainment.
