SaleHoo - Work-at-Home Scam? Or Legitimate eBay Wholesale Dropship Supplier?

Is SaleHoo a scam, or is it a legitimate means of product sourcing for your home business? This is an important question.
Especially if you are seeking a source of wholesale and dropship suppliers and do not want to waste your money.
Very likely, in your search for eBay product suppliers, you have heard differing opinions on SaleHoo and whether or not it is a scam.
Two common "scam" claims I have heard are that SaleHoo staff try to sell their own products to the membership, and that SaleHoo promises quick wealth.
As a member myself, I can say that I have not found either of these claims to be true.
It is correct that one of the SaleHoo staff has a separate business providing and brokering small, bulk lots of liquidation goods.
However, there is no pressure to purchase these goods, and the business is quite separate from SaleHoo.
It is merely another resource.
The truth is that SaleHoo is not a product supplier whatsoever.
As for the second claim, promises of quick wealth generally tread a find line between legitimacy and scam.
Again, to my knowledge and never within the course of my membership has SaleHoo ever made any claims about getting rich quick.
If anything, it just the opposite.
Both staff and the member community are quick to point out that making a steady profit takes time, work, and persistence.
SaleHoo is merely an online resource, sort of like a vast rolodex of product suppliers, though a highly enhanced rolodex with many bells and whistles.
Although SaleHoo is somewhat like a vast, online wholesale trade mart that is open 24/7, neither I nor SaleHoo would want to suggest that it has a list of every supply source or that SaleHoo can meet the needs of every online retailer.
SaleHoo is merely one source of low cost product suppliers intended to meet the needs of ecommerce and eBay businesses.
One claim that does have merit is that the SaleHoo directory lists many non-wholesale suppliers together with its wholesale sellers.
Keep in mind, however, that a true wholesaler has a specific business license that allows it to sell distribute goods to retailers without charging sales tax.
Just because a product supplier is not a wholesale business does not mean that it is a scam.
Quite the opposite.
In addition to wholesalers, SaleHoo lists many other legitimate kinds of product suppliers,
  • liquidation specialists
  • surplus outlets
  • manufacturer distributors
  • retail discount product suppliers
  • Chinese supply sources
And, you may not realize this, but many dropshippers are not, in fact, true wholesalers.
This can make it confusing when searching for the best source of low cost goods.
To be sure that you are getting the best deal, be prepared to compare prices as well as get on the phone with suppliers to verify and negotiate prices.
Also, keep in mind that one of the most valuable features of SaleHoo is the forum.
You can always post questions about prices and suppliers to get member feedback.
The online community actively participates, and you can post price and supplier questions and usually receive a speedy reply.
I personally think this is the best way to use SaleHoo and the best way to get the most current and accurate information.
