How to Create an Elegant Wedding Candelabra for Pews
- 1). If you are using real flowers, soak the floral cage in water. Attach the cage to the top of the candelabra with zip ties or chenille stems so that it is held firmly in place.
- 2). Carefully insert pieces of your floral greenery into the cage, starting at the bottom. You can use the floral cutters to trim the sections as you build the foundation. Add greenery of different heights to create a cascading look. Place longer stems at the bottom for more fullness. Add pieces of the greenery to the top of the cage pointing vertically to add height to the arrangement. Use different types of greenery if you wish for added appeal.
- 3). Trim the flowers so you leave enough stem to insert into the floral cage. Remove any leaves that may be attached to the top of the stem. Insert the larger flowers into the cage on top of the greenery, using an upward motion.
- 4). Fill in any bare spots that are not covered by greenery or the larger flowers with smaller flowers or floral sticks. If you are using a free-standing candelabra, fill in all sides with greenery and flowers so the arrangement is elegant 360-degrees around. Pew-mounted candelabras may not have to be as full in the back depending on their height in relation to the church pew.
- 5). Attach ribbons to the candle stems and the base of your candelabra. You can use the ribbon to create bows or you can simply allow it to cascade underneath the flower arrangement or under the candles. You may also choose to wrap ivy stems around the base of an aisle candelabra floor stand for an added touch of sophistication. Complete your candelabra by adding candles to the top of the arrangement for an elegant wedding ceremony look.
